Jessica Forrey, LCSW
Hi, I’m Jess!
I’m so glad you’re here!
I am a licensed trauma therapist providing virtual therapy to clients throughout New York, California, and Colorado.
I have been a therapist for over a decade and am on a lifelong journey to better understand myself and others and to cultivate a life that supports an abiding sense of internal wellbeing and capacity. I work with trauma and anxiety, because these are experiences I have personally lived through. I have also experienced deep transformation and healing through the same types of therapy I use in my practice. Trauma and pain may have been our inheritance, but they do not have to be our legacy.
What it’s like to work with me...
I care deeply for my clients and I will show up to our work with intention and dedication. I consider myself a co-conspirator in your healing - sometimes leading, sometimes gently holding space for your inner wisdom to emerge, always right alongside you. I will be an ally to all the parts of you - those that are ready to heal and those that are still living in fear or shouldering great burdens. I show up authentically, and work to cultivate a space where you can feel safe enough to do the same, so we can be bold in our efforts to cultivate healing in your life. I don’t see you as a diagnosis or problem to be fixed, but as the complex and unique individual you are, full of wisdom and capacity, deeply worthy of attention, healing, and care.
My commitment to you...
I will be an active participant in your healing. I’ll walk alongside you, honor your story, believe in your goodness and will never shy away from your pain. I’ll help you tap into your strengths and tune into your wisdom. I will be an attentive, attuned, sturdy guide and will help you move from distress and disconnection toward connection, calm, and a clear sense of your intuition and capacity. I want to help you live your most authentic, joyful, aligned life.
I will do my part to help you experience relief ASAP. My approach is rooted in transformation-based therapies that are designed to invite healing from the get go, helping you to connect with your deepest wisdom and excavate your truest self. If you’re ready to heal and rewire your brain, I am ready to help create the conditions in which you can unfold all the parts of you that have lived in constriction and start expanding into a more joyful, integrated, healthy version of yourself.
we are wounded in relationship and we heal in relationship…
The way we are able to heal in the context of a therapeutic relationship where we feel safe enough to share our vulnerabilities, take up space, and risk remaining open to receiving the support we need is profound. My own own therapy and trauma healing journey has completely transformed my life and I am honored everyday that I get to do this work with others.
Healing is always possible, even if you've felt stuck, disconnected, and overwhelmed for a long time. I would love to accompany you, witness you, and support you to understand and embrace all parts of you. I would love to join you in your journey to cultivate deep healing and transformation.
